Hamilton careered into the back of his championship rival's Ferrari as the Finn waited at the pit exit under a red light. Nico Rosberg will also be penalised ten grid positions at Magny-Cours after he ran into the back of Hamilton during the same incident. McLaren team boss Ron Dennis said afterwards "The collision that eliminated Lewis was just one of those things.
