Hamilton to pay in France

Lewis Hamilton will be penalised ten grid positions at the French Grand Prix later this month for his part in a crash with Kimi Raikkonen in Canada. Hamilton careered into the back of his championship rival's Ferrari as the Finn waited at the pit exit under a red light. Nico Rosberg will also be penalised ten grid positions at Magny-Cours after he ran into the back of Hamilton during the same incident. McLaren team boss Ron Dennis said afterwards "The collision that eliminated Lewis was just one of those things. No racing driver would deliberately take himself out of a grand prix, and the plain fact is that Lewis didn't realize that the cars in front of him were coming to halt until it was too late".
